How to Tell if You Have a Platinum Credit Card

There are different types of credit cards in the market today, and one of them is platinum credit cards. Since you’re reading this article, it’s likely that you’re already aware of what a credit card is and how it works, but if you aren’t sure about platinum cards yet, you can learn more by reading the rest of this article. The information below will help you understand what platinum cards are and whether or not you have one. Let’s get started!

The basics

A platinum credit card is more prestigious than a gold or silver one. The most important difference between platinum and other cards is that the annual fee for platinum cards is usually higher. However, this doesn’t mean it’s always worth it to pay an extra $150 per year for the privilege of using your card. Many people find that they are better off with a lower-tier card because they can’t afford the higher annual fee.

For example, if you’re working on paying down debt and only spend $1,000 per month on your card, then you’ll be better off with a lower-tier card because you won’t be paying enough in interest charges over the course of 12 months to make up for the annual fee.

Periodically

If, on the other hand, you regularly charge over $6,000 monthly (plus other fees), then it may be worthwhile to get a platinum card. In addition, some platinum cards offer perks like concierge service, travel benefits and complimentary services like airport lounge access. Some will also give you airline miles as part of the annual fee.

When deciding whether or not to apply for a platinum card, consider how much money you earn compared to how much money you spend each month – do the math and see what works best for your lifestyle! The benefits

Platinum credit cards are one of the most sought-after types of credit card in the market. They offer all of the benefits that you might find on any other credit card, with some additional perks and benefits. Here are some of the perks that come with platinum cards:

* Extended warranty – This coverage extends the manufacturer’s warranty for up to an additional year. The duration depends on your card, so be sure to check with your issuer before signing up.

* Luxury Hotel Collection – This is a set of luxury hotels managed by Marriott International, Inc. Among these is JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Ritz-Carlton Hotels & Resorts, and Renaissance Hotels Worldwide Inc., among many others. Upon booking, you can expect certain amenities such as room upgrades or complimentary breakfast depending on which hotel they put you at.

Enrollment

* Priority Pass Select Membership – If you have this membership, then it will give you access to over 900 airport lounges worldwide. These lounges provide customers with free Wi-Fi, food and drinks, TVs, newspapers and magazines etcetera.

* Free Additional Cards – With a platinum card, you can get more than just one card without paying anything more than the annual fee associated with it. Each additional user will need their own social security number or tax identification number in order to activate their account though. There may also be some age requirements for the person applying for the card and the person who wants to use it.

*Airport lounge access- As mentioned above, there are over 900 airport lounges across many airports in different countries.

*Discounts- There may also be discounts available to customers who shop at particular retailers through their credit card. For example, with Bloomingdale’s they offer 10% off every day when shopping online or 15% off two days out of five when shopping in store (terms apply).

*Service- Platinum cards typically include priority customer service and concierge services 24 hours a day 7 days per week.

The annual fees

Platinum credit cards come with an annual fee, so it is important to know what that means before you apply. One way of telling whether or not you have a platinum credit card is by looking at your monthly statement. If the letter in front of your account number indicates that you have one, then you do.

For example, the letter L would indicate that it is a platinum credit card. However, if there is no letter and just numbers, such as 1234567890123456, then it is most likely not a platinum credit card. Another way of figuring out whether or not you have a platinum credit card is by checking for any rewards on your current credit card. If you are being rewarded points, cash back, etc., then chances are it is not a platinum credit card.

Premium Platinum Credit Card

The easiest way to tell if your card is a premium platinum credit card is by going online and researching information about it. Or call the company who issued the card and ask them! To find information about the platinum card I’m looking into, I typed barclays credit card into Google.

From the results, I was able to find that this is indeed a platinum credit card with annual fees. I also found out how long the application process will take: Barclaycard generally accepts applications within 14 days of receiving your completed application package. So yes, I will be applying for this specific Barclays Platinum Rewards Visa Signature® Credit Card!

Things to know before applying

1. First, you need to determine which type of credit card you have. the greatest current types are Visa,MasterCard, and American denote . In order for your card to be considered platinum it has to be issued by one of those three companies.

2. Next, look at the front of your card or your online account and find the credit limit listed on it. If there is no number next to credit limit then you do not have a platinum credit card, sorry!

3. Lastly, look at the very top of your card and see what letter is printed in capital letters next to account. If that letter is an A then you most likely have a platinum credit card – congratulations! It’s worth noting that while all cards from these three companies can qualify as being platinum, only a select few from each company will actually be labeled as such.

CitiBank offers Platinum

For example, only CitiBank offers Platinum branded cards but every major company offers its own version of gold. Bottom line: it’s worth doing some research before applying for any new credit card so you can make sure you’re getting the best deal available. Some people might prefer a gold card because they offer rewards or features like rental car insurance, emergency travel assistance, and price protection. Platinum cards are mostly focused on reward points rather than tangible benefits.

They often come with higher annual fees than their lesser counterparts too, but more perks and benefits can help offset this cost depending on how you use them

(1). Additionally, since they require such high credit limits there may be additional considerations to take into account when qualifying for them

(2). Finally

(3), beware of making application errors that could accidentally deny you access to the best card possible due to confusing language in questionnaires; this is especially important if English isn’t your first language. Be careful when applying now–but don’t let me stop you from trying!
